Joshuacord Inc. is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting Christians who face persecution for their faith. Through prayer, advocacy, direct aid, and partnership with trusted on-the-ground networks, we work to bring hope, relief, and a voice to believers living in some of the world’s most dangerous regions.
Our Mission
Religious freedom remains under threat in much of the world, and Christians are among the most persecuted faith groups globally. According to the 2026 World Watch List released in January 2026, more than 388 million Christians worldwide face high levels of persecution and discrimination for their faith, that is roughly 1 in 7 Christians globally. Joshuacord exists to stand with these believers: to pray for them, equip them, and mobilize compassionate support on their behalf.
Where We Serve
Our primary focus begins in the Middle East and Africa, where persecution is most severe and the need for sustained support is greatest. We are currently concentrating our efforts across six regions in critical need including: Afghanistan, Egypt, India, Iraq, South Sudan and Syria.
The Story Behind Our Name
The name Joshuacord is inspired by one of the most enduring symbols of faith, courage, and kindness in Scripture: the Scarlet Cord of Rahab, found in the Book of Joshua. As the Israelites prepared to enter the Promised Land, Joshua sent two spies into the fortified city of Jericho. There, they were sheltered by Rahab, a woman who risked her life to protect them. When the king’s men came searching, she concealed the spies and sent their pursuers away. Under cover of night, Rahab lowered the two men down from her window using a scarlet cord the very cord that would later serve as the sign of protection over her household when Jericho fell.
Rahab’s courage carried life-or-death consequences, yet her faith and kindness changed the course of history. She became the great-great-grandmother of King David and, through him, part of the lineage of Jesus Christ:
Rahab was the great, great, grandmother of David. Jesus through both Mary and Joseph trace their ancestry back to King David: Matt 1:5-6 “And Salmon fathered Boaz of Rahab, and Boaz fathered Obed of Ruth, and Obed fathered Jesse, and Jesse fathered David the king.” (MKJV) The Scarlet Cord is a symbol of courage, faith and kindness.
Today, the Scarlet Cord remains a timeless symbol of courage, faith, and kindness and a reminder that one act of obedience can ripple across generations. At Joshuacord, we carry this legacy forward by standing with persecuted Christians and extending a modern-day scarlet cord of hope, protection, and provision to those who need it most.
